Cannot save and publish forms

Hello,
I downloaded the source code from github and created dist-war using ant.
But after deploying the war file in tomcat 5.0 i can create a new form but after publishing it shows a blank screen and also the summary page does not show any saved forms.the db also remains empty.

Before or after creating a war do i have to make any changes in the configurations to connect to exist db.
