how to use xforms:alert

c.harder
Hi all,
I noticed that the "[ #304325 ] Alert messages are not displayed" bug is closed.
Does it mean its working?
How do I use xforms:alert? Can you give an example?

I tried:

<xforms:input ref="age">
<xforms:label>Age:</xforms:label>
<xforms:alert>Age is wrong!</xforms:alert>
</xforms:input>

thanks
Clemens

Hi Clemens,

We are displaying the alert message using a tool tip that appears when
you position the mouse over the error icon, as shown in the attached
screenshot.  This is a "good enough" implementation as the XForms
specification does not specify how alerts are displayed, hence we have
marked the bug as fixed.

But we understand that in most cases you would like to have the errors
displayed in a section at the top or the bottom of the form.  We are
planning to implement this in the future, and I have just created us a
bug to track this.

Hi Alex,
thanks for reply. The Tool tip solution is currently well enough for me, but its not working. I tried cvs snapshot 08.01.2006 and http://www.orbeon.com/ops/goto-example/xforms-controls. Both are not working. I tested on Internet Explorer and Firefox 1.5.
Please can you check that?
