Xforms in OpenOffice?

Pascal Heus
All:
I just recently noticed that OpenOffice 2.0 now support XForms and
allows you to design forms whose fields are associated with elements in
one or more XForms instances (File->New->XML Form Document). I was
wondering if anyone has tried this feature or used as a GUI to design
XForms for Orbeon?
thanks,
Pascal

i cursorly checked the XForms capabilities of OOo before i decided for
OF, and i was a little disappointed that some features (that were
mandatory for my application) weren't supported by OOo - especially
repeated items. For my part. i think it's easier to learn how to create
an OF XForms Page (because it's like creating an (X)HTML Form) than to
build it using OOo and convert it to HTML. And if OOo someday supports
the entire XForms standard, i would rather regard it a competitor
regarding MS InfoPath / Altova Authentic than OF.

Hi Pascal,

AFAIK, Open Office uses the XForms model but uses different controls.
So if you want to design a form in Open Office and run it in Orbeon
Forms or any other XForms engine that expects XForms controls, you
will have to transform the Open Office controls in XForms controls.
