I think the approach that what you're talking about looks like very interesting and useful work. Anything in the area of combining ease of use for the user with structuring of the information below will make good progress, and result in a good tool. Are you referring to this Roger Schank, I looked up the name on the web and that looks relevant to design for users.

Peter - yes, that' him. He started in the AI and then moved to the  
human education field (I guess teaching robots was too  
frustrating :-)  )
