Service.Actions appear broken in nightly

apgoar

Hey All;

I’m really looking forward to some of the features in the next release, and have begun doing some initial testing with the nightly build. I did run into a show stopper issue that prevents me from doing much further testing.

In form builder, the dialog for setting up new actions appears to be broken.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1.       Install the latest nightly PE (Mine was dated May 1, 2012).

2.       Install my license file.

3.       Goto form builder

4.       Start a new form.

5.       Add a bunch of controls to the form.

6.       In the “Services and Actions” section, Add a HTTP service. (I used ‘test’ to verify the action is working just fine.

7.       Now in “Actions”, hit  “Add” to add a new action.

8.       Fill in the action name, select the ‘react to” (in my case, I used ‘form load”)

9.       Select the service previously selected.

10.   Two problems show up (see attached screen shot)

a.       There is an additional unlabeled dropdown box on the screen with no options in it.

b.      All the ‘value/parameter’ sections are empty. Normally at this point, I would select the control to populate with the response from the service call.

I realize this is a nightly build and things my be in transition, or you may already be aware of the issue. I’m sending this email, just in case you were not already aware of this.

I’m putting my testing of the new release on hold until this issue is resolved. But would be glad to continue deeper testing with any new nightly releases, once this issue is resolved.

Really looking forward to the enhancements in the new release.  You guys rock!

Many thanks,

Andy G

Re: Service.Actions appear broken in nightly

JeffL
Whilst on the subject, I have noticed even in early versions (3.7) that the service dialog boxes do not have scroll capabilities. This is fine for a few source and destination entries, however, if you have more than the screen height, you run into problems. What about adding scroll capabilities to the dialog box?

Regards

Jeff

Jeff,

That sounds reasonable and we've hit this issue in the past as well! I
added an RFE. Hopefully we'll manage to do this for the release:
