Seperate Deployment in Websphere

Vedha
I understand that we need to enable crossContext in the server for Seperate deployment process. But IBM Webpshere (100% certified JEE server), does not support crossContext.

IBM crossContext Not Supported

In this case, how do we need to do proceed with seperate deployment?

Hi Vedha,

Going through that thread, per the last message, it seems that no special setup is needed on WebSphere other than putting the apps in the same EAR. Is this something you've tried already?

Not yet. I shall try that and update here. But i have a question, if i put both Application and Orbeon in same ear file then, am i breaking separate deployment concept and going back to integrated deployment mode?

Vedha,

You'll let me know how it goes. And no, you're not breaking "separate deployment" by putting both wars in the same ear, as the application server uses a different class loader for the classes in each war, so you won't have any conflict or anything shared.

Got you. Thanks for the response. About the Orbeon separate deployment in WebSphere, it is working without any special configurations. Even i am not maintaining Application and Orbeon inside same ear application.
