Persistence Layer Orbeon Builder Summary

bruno.buzzi
Alex/Erik,

Permissions defined in Form Definition are only to be used with Form Instances ? (i think yes)

So when a user has access to the Form Definition in the Orbeon Summary then he has all permissions (read/update/delete) over that form.

I was hunting a bug in GemStone persistence layer but i think there's NO bug (it was working as it should be).

So for the Orbeon Summary in the XML in each node i set 'operations' attribute with '*'.

Is this correct ?

regards
bruno

Hi Bruno,

I think the short answer is "yes". More specifically ;), the permissions you define in Form Builder for a given form only apply at "runtime" for that form. Those permissions are not for people editing the form in Form Builder itself. Instead, permissions for "form authors" are defined in the form-builder-permissions.xml:

https://doc.orbeon.com/form-runner/access-control/editing-forms.html

Does this answer your question, or did misread your message?

Alex

Alex,

Thanks for the confirmation.

I was browsing the code and i found "operations -> '*' " in the Orbeon Builder Summary code.
At that moment i thought this is hardcoded --> maybe a bug.

After comparing with MySQL persistence service --> i realise that the sentense was OK :)

Then i posted the question here to be sure ! Thanks again !

regards,
bruno

Bruno, thank you for double checking and keeping an eye on possible bugs. (I am sure there are some out there we are not aware of, and which would be good to squash!)
