Orbeon Forms GDPR support

pandey.dhruv
I have orbeon forms version 2016.3.1. Does it have a support for GDPR(General Data Protection Regulation). If not is this support present in some higher versions of Orbeon?

Hi Pandey,

We have some enhancements in mind for 2018.1, and also need to do a better
job at explaining how Orbeon Forms can help you be compliant with GDPR, but
did you have any specific requirement in mind when asking this question?

Hi Alessandro

Yes we have some client using orbeon in their environment and they want to
implement GDPR for PII(Personal) data. So they would be deleting/masking
some old data in orbeon database. So they were just curious if orbeon
provides something out of the box.

Hi Pandey,

Got it, then I think you can already do this by adding your own tab to the
"Control Settings" dialog in Form Builder (see link below). In that tab, you
could let form authors mark a field as storing PII data, and when they do so
mark the corresponding element with an attribute, say `pii="true"`. Would
something along those lines work for you?

Hi Pandey,

Got it, and of course, you'll just let me know if you can't add what you
need in that tab of the Control Settings, or you encounter any difficulty in
te process.

Re: Orbeon Forms GDPR support

ricetrac
Hello,

I have another question about the GDPR: we would like to post a banner about
our application (like the banner for the management of cookies for example).
Does ORBEON orbeon provides something out of the box ?

thank you.

Hi Julien,

Orbeon Forms doesn't have a feature specifically geared towards showing such
a banner, but this is something that you could implement in XForms. If I
remember correctly, your forms are written by hand in XForms; do I have this
right and is it still the case? If so, I imagine you could add some XForms
to your page for that. Would that make sense?

Hi Alex,

Yes indeed we always write our forms by hand.
I just wanted to know if an "all done" component existed :)

Thank You

Hi Julien,

If Bootstrap is already included in your forms (it is if you have a recent
version of Orbeon Forms), then it looks like Bootstrap "alerts" are doing
what you're looking for:
