International characters,part III.

mob-2
Hello

It turned out that the code responsible for Base64 coding, gzipping and producing the instance was responsible for the corruption of data.
I am not a bit-tweaker so please do not expect me to find what was exactly wrong - I simply replaced the Base64/gzipping with another downloaded component and my problems seem to have disappeared (I am cautious not to say it is solved since I did not run tests for days with different sets of data). The only thing that occured to  me that the problem did not show up with smaller instances.

regards,
Balazs

Balazs, that's interesting to know. Thanks for spending so much time on
this! It would be good to have a way of reproducing this on our side,
and with OPS 3.0 beta 3, just in case the problem is still there.

Hello Erik,

I can't press reply on your mail for some reason so I reply to mine:

- I could not reproduce the error by copying the logged xml to my standalone test utility (maybe there is already some loss of bytes when I do this process). Therefore the reproduction of the problem is not that easy. Nevertheless the error occurs quiet often, so we will definitly check Version 3 and I will let you know of our results.
- The utility class that seems to have solved my issue was downloaded from: http://iharder.sourceforge.net/base64/

regards,
Balazs

p.s. My next problem is performance. There seems to be an issue with the application getting gradually slower after clicking back and forth between two pages (not two specific pages but any pages). Strangely I cannot reproduce the problem with Mac OS X, but the same issue persists on Windows and SUSE Linux with Tomcat 5.0.19, 5.5.something. Have some tips ?

This would be extremely useful feedback. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the tip. We use a modified version of an Apache utility.
