Import code library

alessiovaralta
Hi,

I have a central library in form builder and I have to import the section of
this library in my modules.
The problem is that orbeon import the section in a static way, I can change
the section after the import, is possible to import the section and make
change in the single module?

Hi Alessio,

The code for the section templates is copied into the form definition when
the form is published. So re-publishing a library won't update a published
form using a section template in that library. For that, you would need to
republish the form. Does this help explain what you are seeing? Or did I
misunderstand your question?

Hi Alessio, did you manage to use the section templates to do what you were
aiming for, or do you still have any unresolved issue related to section
templates?

Hi,

my problem is that many times the clients request one library, with one
extra fields or another label...
So in this way the library is not helpful because I have to create many
libraries or I have to create manually the form, because when I import the
library is all static.
I can use large part of a library but is not the same for all clients.

Hi Alessio,

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand the scenario you're describing. If
you don't mind, would you be able to give me an example that would
illustrate the difficulty you're having with the way section templates are
working currently?

My problem is that when I import a library, I want also change this library
in my module because is impossible to use a standard library without little
change for every clients. Now, when I import a library I change change any
fields.

Alessio,

Yes, I think that the Merge Section Template is the function you might be
looking for. It is available since Orbeon Forms 2017.2:
