Clustering in Orbeon 4.10 PE

pandey.dhruv
Hi,

We want setup orbeon for production environment with below specifications:
OS: Redhat Linux
Application server : tomcat
Orbeon Version : 4.10 PE

Now we want to have orbeon in cluster mode, i.e , we already have two separate servers and want to have clustered orbeon on them pointing to single database for high availability of environment.

Please let us know the feasibility and also what kind of license should we have for this, we already run orbeon 3.9 on one server with PE license.

Hi Pandey,

Whether with 4.9 or 4.10, you just need to setup "sticky cookies" on your load balancer (whether you have physical hardware for that, or using software). That is, once a user has been assigned to 1 or the 2 servers for a given session, that user should be sent again to the same server in any subsequent request.

Is the term "sticky cookies" same as sticky session?

Hi Ken,

I imagine it could depend slightly based on the context, but in the context of Orbeon Forms, the term is used to refer to a mechanism used to route HTTP requests from a user always to the same front-end Orbeon Forms server, at least during a particular user's session.
