Changing form submission element in form builder.. Help !

karthik Jayaraman
Hi all. Today while seaerching through the forum i found a post where ERIK quoted that

"you could create your own xforms:submission element within the form (by using the "Edit Source"
feature), and set the @validate attribute on that element to "false". Then your button would call this submission."

1...
How can i achieve this ?. My constraint is i want to handle the default submit(Workflow submit button) through my own xforms:submission element.(which will be added by clicking edit source button in the form builder). Please provide any inputs on this...

2.. I dont mind creating another button inside my form. But i am using pdf and save workflow buttons in my form. So

       a. Either my custom button should be aligned with those buttons

       b. Or i have to create my own custom buttons to replace those workflow buttons and replicate those functionalities.

Which of these two is feasible

Hi Karthik,

I think the point Erik is making is that if you do not use the default
workflow button, you can have more precise control (without making
changes to FormRunner).

If you want to change the behavior of the workflow buttons (besides
configuring which are present in the properties-form-runner.xml) I
believe this requires changes to form runner files and rebuilding FR.
However, if you add a button onto the form, you can use it to run the
submission with fine-grained control by editing the form source.

I suppose I'm not helping with your one constraint....

Regards,
Hank

Thanks for the help louis. But the problem is i can create a button inside the form but i already use save and pdf workflow buttons. So i have to replicate those buttons as well because the submit custom button will be different and aligned separately when compared to other workflow buttons ...

Karthik,

Did you manage to do this since you posted this message? I.e. adding
your own button in addition to existing buttons, while keeping the
alignment?

Karthik,

We'll need some more information here to be able to help you. You are
saying you want to add your own submission. So, what is the problem?
